The process and timeline of buying a new construction home is similar to buying a pre-existing home, but there are some key differences. The main difference is that you're buying something that hasn't been built yet. Here's a basic timeline for how the process works: You find a community you like and a builder you trust. The builder will have several different floor plans to choose from. You choose your favorite. The builder will give you a base price for the home and a list of options and upgrades you can add. You choose the options you want. The builder will give you a final price for the home. You sign a contract and put down a deposit. The builder starts building your home. You make progress payments as construction milestones are met. Once construction is complete, you do a final walk-through and then close on the home.
